Thursday June 6, 2013 - CORD leader Raila Odinga has told a South African symposium on Democracy in Africa that he won the last election, but he was rigged out by agents of impunity who preferred his close competitorPresident Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking at a the forum organised by Boston University in conjunction with University of Pretoria, Raila said many elections held in Africa are usually flawed, since many African leaders like clinging onto power.
Raila cited an example of Kenya’s Presidential Elections on March 4 th 2013 where he said Government agents colluded with the rogue Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officials in rigging the elections in favour of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He said he is the only leader in the world who had won elections two times and never declared the winner.
Raila also urged African democrats to continue fighting for democracy and ensure that Africa is free from oppression from fellow Africans.
