Wednesday June 5, 2013 - Uhuru/Ruto cabinet nominees Joseph Ole Lenku and Kazungu Kambi are set to be appointed to their respective cabinet portfolios after the National Assembly adopted the report tabled before the House Parliamentary Committee on Appointment Chaired by Speaker, Justice Muturi, which recommended them for the job safe for Dagoretti MP who had dissenting views.

In a report tabled to Parliament by the leader of minority Francis Nyenze, the Appointment Committee urged MPs to unanimously adopt the report to have the former CEO of Utalii College Mr. Joseph Ole Lenku become Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Government Coordination, while the former Kaloleni MP Kazungu Kambi to become Labour Cabinet Secretary.

While moving the motion, Nyenze described the two as more than qualified to hold their respective offices as they had shown commitment to get things done.

His majority counterpart Aden Duale said that the positions needed policy makers and advisors and Ole Lenku and his colleague Kambi have no equal.

Generally majority of those who contributed on the report hailed the two nominees making it obvious that they will become Cabinet Secretaries in their respective portfolios.

The two now await the formal appointment by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
