Senator KHALWALE says Mama IDA ODINGA is a normal citizen

  -Kakamega Senator, Bonni Khalwale, has said former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s wife Mama Ida Odinga is a normal citizen who should not be accorded any VIP status when going anywhere outside or inside the country.

In a short interview with a local TV station on Tuesday, Khalwale said it is only Raila Odinga in the Odinga family who should be allowed into the VIP lounge.

He said it is embarrassment and humiliation for Mama Ida to claim that she was barred from accessing the VIP lounge, saying she should go back to class and learn on who VIP is.

On the issue of Raila being barred from accessing the VIP lounge at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport(JKIA), Khalwale condemned the act and asked the Jubilee Government to accord the “octogenarian” some respect even if he was defeated in the last election.

“Raila has done a lot forthis country. He deserves some respect,” Khalwale said

“You can wish away the status of the former Prime Minister but you can't take it away,” he added.
