» Revealed ; Short term friendship with KATOO OLE METITO brought in OLE LENKU as a nominee
A fortnight ago, President Uhuru Kenyatta caught Kenyans by surprise, when he nominated the little known Utalii Hotel General Manager Joseph Ole Lenku to head the powerful Interior Affairs and Coordination of National Government docket.
Kenyans on Twitter and Facebook ranted asking “Who is this Ole Lenku that President Uhuru has settled on?”
But according to our moles privy to the appointment of Cabinet Secretaries, Ole Lenku had applied for a position of Principal Secretary only to meet his childhood friend Loitoktok MP, Katoo Ole Metito, when posting the application.
Due to the short term friendship Metito enjoyed with Uhuru, he introduced Ole Lenku to Uhuru at State House, Nairobi-where Uhuru was very impressed by his CV.
After interviewing him, President Uhuru picked him amid intense lobbying by leaders from the Maasai community who wanted one of their own given a Cabinet docket
Close friends of Ole Lenku who spoke to the Kenyan DAILY POST said he is a no-nonsense man, firm in what he believes in, but humble and honest.
They also said he is a devoted Christian who is dedicated in serving the people.
