Reports from our political moles indicate that Diana Kethi Kilonzo was forced to vie for the Makueni Senate seat by former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama because the two feared Jubilee Coalition would win if Kethi does not vie for the seat.
According to our mole in the Wiper Party, Kalonzo, who is also the Wiper party leader, had agreed to vie for the seat but his political advisers warned him of a humiliating defeat if he tries to vie for Makueni Senate seat.
Even Muthama warned Kalonzo that it will be a great political mistake for him to vie, since Jubilee Coalition, with its huge financial muscle, would field a powerful candidate that will give Kalonzo a run for his money.
The source said Kalonzo and Muthama agreed to convince Kethi Kilonzo, who is the daughter of late Mutula Kilonzo, to succeed his father who died mysteriously in April this year.
The Makueni senate seat fell vacant following the mysterious death of Mutula Kilonzo on April 27th at his Maanzoni home in Machakos County.
The by –elections are slated for July 22nd
