Thursday, June 13, 2013-Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Chairman Sam Nyamweya has hailed Harambee Stars’ afterthey played out to a 2-2 all draw away to Malawi in the FIFA World Cup qualifier on Wednesday evening.
Kenya who lacked the services of key payers came twice from behind to a force a draw against the Malawi flames at Blantyre.
While Kenya are all but out in the running for a place in the 2014 World Cup after managing three points from as many games, Nyamweya hailed the team’s fighting spirit as well backing coach Adel Amrouche.
Nyamweya said: “We laud Harambee Stars for their fighting spirit displayed at Kamuzu stadium and bravo to the team.
“FKF has continued to have faith with our coach Adel Amrouche as we continue to work together to improve the National team rankings.
He continued: Amrouche kept his faith with the new players he drafted as they have shown they have come of age.
Kenya missed the services of Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama, Inter Milan’s MacDonald Mariga, goalkeeper Arnold Origi and Ajjacio striker Dennis Oliech who fell out with the coach aftermissing training sessions.
