Friday, June 14, 2013 - The Spanish champions have joined Champions League winners Bayern Munich in the race to secure the services of Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny.
The French international was anintegral figure in Arsene Wenger side after he established a formidable partnership with Germany defender Per Mertesacker.
His heroics at the heart of the Gunners defence can be attributed to Arsenal’s top four finish as he proved to be as good going forward with a couple of crucial goals.
While Koscielny has four years left in his contract at the Emirates Stadium he recently hinted that he could be tempted to quit the Premier League outfit in search of greener pastures elsewhere if they don’t show ambition in the summer transfer window.
This has prompted the Catalan giants and the Germany powerhouse to test the waters with both clubs lining up a deal reported to be in the region of £20m.
