Uhuru/ Ruto’s 2017 re-election bid received a huge boost on Sunday, after a section of Maasai professionals and elders endorsed them for 2017 Presidential race.
Led by their spokesman Joseph Ole Sankori, the leaders said despite the community voting for CORD in some places in the last election, Uhuru did not sideline the community and he went ahead and gave them a good number of Cabinet and Principal Secretaries slots.
“As Maasai elders and professionals, we thank President Uhuru Kenyatta for appointing a good number of Maasai technocrats in many of his top positions in the Government. In 2017, all the Maasai electorate will put their votes in Uhuru Kenyatta’s basket since he has not sidelined the Maasai community,” Sankori said.
Sonkori also urged all leaders including former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and ex- Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka to unite and accord Uhuru the necessary support to discharge his duties well.
